Abstract

In the face of the complexity of urban planning, it is necessary to search for solutions improving and increasing transparency of planning processes. Defining the potential of online tools based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the authors of the paper presented the geo-questionnaire as a tool supporting public participation in urban planning - both in the statutory and non-statutory forms. In the paper six geo-questionnaire implementations carried out in the years 2015-2016 in Poznań and its metropolitan area have been analyzed, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the implementation of e-participation tools and the opportunities and limitations in the point of view of planning practices.
