Abstract

Every year, the range of GIS technology applications becomes wider. More and more professionals from different branches use such systems.
The purpose of this paper is to present the project of a spatial information system for the interior of a university building, including its practical implementation. The project was developed for the main building of the Warsaw University of Technology. The needs of various end users were taken into account with particular emphasis on identification of objects and their attributes required to manage the building. Building plans and inventories were used as a source of information. Special attention was paid to the safety and security aspects. Finally, the scope of present and future uses was discussed The presented system has been made available on a dedicated geoportal.
